No watch. No crystals.
No spirals.
Hypnosis, or hypnotherapy, is a state of deep relaxation and focused concentration. It’s a type of mind-body medicine. We’ve all heard the adage, “Change your thinking, change your life.” Hypnotherapy is an effective and powerful way to do that.
how does it work?
The hypnotherapist will guide you into a deep state of relaxation and focus with verbal cues, metaphors, imagery, and stories. Your conscious mind is quieted and you’re able to tap into the part of your brain where beliefs, emotions, memory, and most importantly, behaviors originate.
myths about hypnosis
- Myth 1 – I’ll be in your control.
- No, you can’t be made to do anything against your will. You won’t reveal any secret information and you won’t lose control. The state of deep relaxation makes it easier for you to explore your unconscious, but it doesn’t – it can’t – make you do something.
- Myth 2 – Hypnosis is just a stage or magical act.
Hypnosis is a medically based therapy that can be used as part of an overall health and wellness plan. We go into trances all the time: watching an enthralling movie, driving our regular commute home, engrossed in a book, during lovemaking, finding our “zone” at work, or during exercise.myths about hypnosis
